Iv just noticed a ticking sound on my Toyota Soarer ,I had a look at the other couple of threads relating to ticking sounds but all seem more intense then the problem I'm having.
I do have a video sorry for how dark it was just got home from work & I cant really tell where the sound is coming from in the video.
I'm hoping someone can help me figure out what it could be if its anything to worry about at all?

Sounds rather healthy to me.

Most of that ticking sounds like the injectors opening and closing.

The other tick you can get, usually rear passenger bank around cylinders 5 and 7 are worn cam shim / buckets so they get a tap each time they open and close, most early 1UZs are doing this now unless perfectly maintained oil wise.

Yours doesn't sound like its doing that however.

Mine has been ticking for years and done thousands of kms while it has had the tick. Hasn't become worse over the past 5 years. My 1uz is about to hit the 300,000km mark.

Better to have a little tick from a couple of lifters than have them to tight.

I read somewhere that if you can't hear the noise with the bonnet closed and engine running then it is nothing to worry about, but if you can hear the noise in this scenario it is most likely the lifter shims
