In my opinion, it depends a bit on the condition of the motor , and its mileage. How many km has yours done? Try the full synthetic (I too am a Nulon fan), see if it starts to blow any blue smoke or not, If so revert back to what was working for you before.

I have been running 10w 40 fully synthetic for years, engine runs smooth and beautiful, no issues at all, check you tube and there are plenty of tests done there with people running synthetic oils over mineral, nobody seems to have a problem.

Mine has been running Penrite 15w-60 full synthetic by previous owner for years. Now with 248k, sounds and runs like new..

10W-40 is ok, no reason to really use that weight, but typically the cheapest and most commonly found.

I'd go for a 5w-30 synthetic. Lower viscosity for cold start up where the majority of wear is done.

Ideal operating temp weight of 30 for all conditions, even if you drive hard in a hot location a quality oil will be absolutely fine in a UZ motor. It is after all that's what they spec'd from factory.

It's worth remembering if you're in Melbourne or Darwin, your cooling system with its automatic thermostat control and hydraulic fan is going to keep the engine coolant in the 85-95 range mark, so the oil temperature is also kept in check. It doesn't need to be thicker if your local areas ambient temperature is slightly warmer.
