Very hard to repair as these nearly always get radial cracks from around the sensor. Clean off from around the sensor and get hold of some penetrant/flaw detector and spray on to see the extent of the crack(s). Buying s/h will probably give the same result soon so bank on buying new. Try and get a price from your local dealer then compare to Castle Hill Toyota in Sydney, ask for James Sloane and mention Soarer Central, or see if Neil has one cheap.

That picture looks very familiar! When mine went I tried all plastic welders and radiator repair places but no one would touch it. Ended up buying new about $380 dollars from memory - was a while back
Neil Griffiths Trader NSW I have MORE Soarers than Hayden :-)

looking at your top tank in the first pic there are many small cracks, mine was similar and started to leak but only when it got very hot. Eventually the top tank split and I had it replaced, cost $365.00. Unable to tell if that your problem at present but at some time soon it will be.

Phil's Mechanical in Maddington Replaced mine about a month ago. Only charged $322 for the Top Tank!! I don't know how much he charged labor, cos I got a service, all air filters changed, and a complete inspection. Labor of $238. Call Phil for a price 94933069.

Good quality 3rd party top tanks start around the $300 mark and a complete radiator is about $800. Worth getting the core checked as they are often knackered after 15 years and it is sometimes cheaper to put in a complete radiator rather than replace the core and the top tank. Phil comes very highly recommended and if you ask nicely he has a loan car. If you want a second opinion ring Gavin at Lexus of Perth service and ask which supplier they use for their non OEM radiators. They are top quality units and available ex-stock in WA.

The part you are looking for 16482-50040 is normally ex stock in WA from Toyota. Ken is talking about the top tank on the radiator which usually goes at about the same time. In Perth Melville Toyota are Soarer Friendly. If you want the best price in Australia try James Sloane at Castle Hill Toyota 1800 111 388. You might also need the coolant level sensor if you are getting Klingon Dashboard messages about coolant levels all the time.
