Hiya all, it seems that my V8 is suffering from the dreaded coil pack problems that so many of you have also. Apart from Toyota, is there anywhere that I can source one or two of these items, preferably in the city {Adelaide} or south west, and also are they difficult for a nucklehead like me to fit?

I believe the coils are available from Bursons, so probably available from most parts stores.

Easy to fit if you have some mechanical abilities.

Damn near gotta remove whole front plate assembly 'cos they put a bolt in where they shoulda used a stud or capscrew on the LHS coilpack

Well it has taken me all week, but I have determined that it is not the coils. I am starting to think that it may be the ECU. I have got the car booked into Elite Auto Electronics at Blackwood. Has anyone dealt with these people before? I will let you know how it goes.

I just replaced my top coil pack about 20 minutes ago, and is working like a champion.
I got mine from Castle Hill Toyota ($145), who I can put in the highest recommendation.
They were fast and very helpful. :-)
