Might, but why bother? BFI 3 costs practically nothing, has the same advantages of free air intake for more power, with superior engine protection. Bling.

Discreet bling, Adam, given they are hidden under a cover. Reminds me of the brief fashion some years ago for a transparent case on electronics so you could see the chips working
It's not a case of bling. I would just prefer to buy something to bolt on, than DIY. Or would It be better just to get a K&N filter to use with the stock airbox rather than a pod type setup?

I have the second one you listed (the Ingentech) on my car & have been driving it for 4 yrs since I did it. Very happy with it. It was designed to fit US spec cars (they have no air bags so no black plastic hat arrangement at the top of the struts) & it was tricky to fit it past the strut hat but I did it without changing or modifying the kit in anyway. The pod filter it came supplied with can easily be replaced in due course with Pod filters from any auto store here in Aus....again no modifications required.
As a easy 1.5hr remove existing bolt on new kit I rate it highly. It will change the sound of your car though! The induction sounds in my view are awesome you can really hear it sucking in air but some people may not like it as it is a heap louder & if you haven't done your exhaust yet or its pretty quite it would probably drown it out.......(well under heavy throttle anyway)
Here it is, I have never cleaned under the hood of my car...not once. It still looks new.
See how close it comes to the strut hat! There is about 1mm between them, It looks like it even rub from time to time but after 4 yrs neither surface is affected by friction.

Hey Carl, noticed you soarer is N/A, did you notice any performance change with out the chamber thingy (cant remember what it is called) on the stan intake plumbing. From memory performance reduces without it in N/A applications.

No not at all, no performance drain what-so-ever in fact the opposite. Improved mid range torque was the immediate change I noticed. I've since put the original back on for a day to compare (didn't dyno) but its easy to feel the differance in the car, less punchy with the stock induction........174.3rwkw was my last dyno result (with the kit on)
