how can he compare it to his own car,
he wants someone else to state what their revs are.

I was responding to this, Ben "...but i have never taken notice of what it usually revs at" thinking that Lincoln might have told us what he imagines to be his problem and the symptoms he is actually observing. However, if you think the question is sensibly expressed, then answer him; you have an auto V8.

Alternatively, the answer calculated from gearbox ratios is 3177 RPM for a 1UZ/341E in 3rd but that will not actually be observed firstly because there will be speedo error and secondly because the Soarer tacho moves in discrete 500RPM jumps and hence is only ever an approximation.

2300rpm in overdrive.
3300rpm in drive.

This is with a 3.909 diff, I'm not sure what you guys have.

Drive = 3rd.
3300 is an approximation, as explained.
I should have added that different wheel/tyre combinations will also affect the reading.

What problem are you trying to solve, Lincoln?

Sorry for the delay in the reply guys, i had to go have a hand operation (snapped tendon!) dammit its painfull!

David i was wanting to compare it but i wanted to make sure of my revs before i gave u guys a figure... then i stuffed up my hand.. so it kinda became a low priority... In all honesty i think it was a 'sensible' question anyway... i did say what i 'imagined' to be my problem, quote "i feel like mine is reving a bit high" pretty simple question i think .. Regardless thanks for the reponse... i do realise you get annoying questions on here all the time.

Now

Mine revs at 2300 (APPROXIMATELY!) cheers guys, its normal..

I just felt like it was a little higher than normal (by the sound!) the other day when i got onto the highway. It was probably because i had not driven on the highway for a while.

Once again thanks for your help.

Linc
