Capacitors are usually metal cylinders with a black plastic coating. If the top is domed rather than flat, then it's cactus. Another indicator is if the plastic has shrunk, but you need to know what a normal one looks like to pick that.

found the problem. Swaped the ecu from my sons car to mine and it started first go.
I then attached my ECU in my sons car and it would not start. Saved me some money there now i will be ringing the auto elec guys who said that we needed a new immobiliser and see what we can do.
Any idea on how much the ecu costs, i can fit it myself. LOL
