Hi everyone, im a new member and need some help!
My soarer (v8) is very slow to start up, it can take up to three times to finally get it started (worse on cold days and late nights). Although, a few times that i havent driven the soarer for 4 days or more, it starts almost instantly without an issue. it usually doesnt take long to start if iv just switched it off for a minute or so. Also, most times i start it, it usually gives out white smoke..
Anyone with some ideas/advice?? id really appreciate it!!

Andrew, i used a paperclip and put one end in FP and the other in +B but no change at all the start up is still very slow. But when i opened the diagnostics box it was covered all over in some kind of white grease, is this normal???

Possably weak relief valve in the pump itself. Try turning key to ON for 30 seconds, THEN turn to start.Mainly after it has been sitting. If this makes it start easy, replace pump.

I had same problem with mine a little while ago. Don't know about yours but mine was the last owners put the wrong style of battery in it. The battery they were advised to use (by a store) was act completely the wrong type.

I'm not sure what the battery specs are for the soarer accept you need 580 cold crank amps. The batter I have now got in my car is a ACDelco S70D23L. It has 580 cold crank amps. Its the battery the RAA recommended to me and I havn't had any problems since. This link is to the AcDelco catalogue. It might be some help.

Andre, it's probably worth the drive. Finding someone that is experienced and has a good track record with working on Soarers means that they will most likely be able to diagnose problems faster, and know of the fix already, which can often mean saving hundreds of dollars.
