I just thought I would bring this light. MAY be handy when you next have a Traffic Offence.
What I am about to say,HAS,been passed in Court. So this sets a Precedance
If you are asleep while driving a car,you cant be held responsable for any actions that happen whilst so..heheheh Its called a *Microsleep* and some other fancy word.
How it was set is like this. A bloke was driving his car whilst drunk,he ran over someone and killed them. His Lawyer pleaded not guilty to the charge of *Unlawfull Manslaughter* on the grounds he was in a *Microsleep*,so the Judge looked into it and told the Jury he can not be held accountable because he was *Asleep*. He did get done for drink driving..But was let of on the more serious charge.
Now if this is the case..I feel that if you get done for any driving offence..Claim you were *Asleep* !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eg, Why were you speeding ? I was asleep Officer !
Why did you go through that red light ? I was asleep Officer !

Narcolepsy? I think this WAS the word ?? Has similarities to Microsleep ?? Yeah.
Steve..Yes this is a true story..Is bad..But this is how things get set..PRECEDANCE..Thats the ONLY book a Lawyer will look into, to establish getting you OFF the hook.
Once a Precedance HAS been set in a Court of Law,all relavant cases WILL be treated in the same way.

Yep, that's right Graham. Recently a NSW judge who regularly fell asleep during court cases, at times while witnesses gave testimony, had his license revoked as he claimed he had the same or similar condition (sleep apnoea).
Hardly surprising given the condition can cause you to fall asleep without warning.

There was a case in Canberra a couple of years back where someone had an accident during/after a major sneezing fit (I think they were on the Tuggeranong Parkway at the time) - from memory they didn't get off. I think the judge took the attitude that they should have pulled over.
