Hey guys,

I got a question which answer I could not find by searching.

I have seen Brembo & Alcon Big Brake Kits for a JZA80 Toyota Supra.

Will this be a direct fit for a JZZ30 Soarer ?

Oh actually, I don't know if they bolt on, but you certainly can get them to fit with some mods. If it fits on a JZA80, logic sorta states they will go on a JZZ30.

I could be wrong.

soarers have the same brakes as the early supras. i have already looked into upgrading to supra brakes, but its not worth it, plus the soarer's have thicker rotors than the supra, my2cents. im just upgrading to slotted all round and high performance bendix pads. rear pads are stuffed from skids, lol.

What do you mean by Early Supra's ?

JZA80 is the fast & the furious shape one LOL sorry but only analagy I could think of.

Ive done what youve done man.

DBA4000's all around with Ferrodo's on the rear and Toyota genuine on the front cause of excessive brake dust from ferrodo's on front.

Maltech stainless braided lines all around etc.

And new master cylinder going in on Friday, I hope that can firm things up a little.

If not then I need a big brake conversion as the stopping power isnt upto scratch.

I had a 3000GT VR-4 before and boy did those factory brakes stop !

Any JZA80 Supra brake kit will fit. Its the clearance from the caliper to the spokes of the wheel that need to be looked at. Same for suspension/shocks/coilovers.

Supra calipers are an excellent choice and use a 323mm rotor compared to teh factory soarer one of 298mm (?) Everything bolts up

Celsior calipers and rotors are just as good. 4 piston calipers that are much lighter than the supra ones, and a bigger rotor than the factory soarer TT items. Clearance issue not as bad as supra, parts are cheaper too.

You'll need rims to clear the calipers, and the diameter of the discs. You'll also have to lose the rotor dust covers.

Dust covers get bent back slightly on the fronts, and trimmed on the rears. They aren't removed if the conversion is done properly, and they still work.

I just unwrapped my special Celsior calipers from Jeff I bought ages ago. 4kg's each! And they look awesome. Can't wait to get them on now! Lew had a pair, but I think he might be keeping them, but not 100% sure.

We're talking about big brake kits right, ie LARGER than normal supra brakes, if so there is no way the stock dust covers will work. It is a tight fit as is, let along with bigger discs again!

The same should still apply for other brake kits.

Bending the front covers moves them out of the way from behind the disc so any diameter disc will fit. Same for the rears. Cutting (unable to bend the rear ones) allows for a larger diameter disc to be fitted, regardless of diameter.

I am assuming a Big brake kit made for the US Lexus SC300 will fit a JZZ30 (twin turbo) ?

As well as coilovers for the US Lexus SC300 ?

Can anyone confirm this ?

Thanks
