On my newly purchased soarer, I've noticed that every time you pull the handbrake up I get a nasty squeal. Its even worse when you pull the handbrake up while driving at low speeds.

My brakes are fine no squeaks there just the rear handbrake parts. Ive had a look around and can see much

Could someone help with what the problem is? Cheers

Well where abouts should it be placed in the rear brake area? Its quite hard to pin point the exact place of the sound

The handbrake uses rear drum brakes which are separate from the normal front and rear disks.

While a lot of people check their pads, most have probably never looked at the shoes.

Unless someone drove the car with the park brake pulled on( with the dash displaying that klingon message and making that dam annoying sound), it would be unlikely that the shoes would be worn!!
