My brakes do a “squeal” noise immediately after depressing the brake pedal (e.g. stopping at a red traffic light) and immediately after I release the pedal to move the car forward (e.g. green light). The noise is similar to that very short noise coming from the auto-gear when a change of gear is performed e.g. reversing event. This effect happens usually in the first 30 minutes driving, then after that the brake behaves normal, no noise.
The noise may be described as if the caliper piston were dragging on the surface of the brake shim a very short distance, i.e. one millimetre and producing the noise until the piston is firmly in position against the shim again. What and how can I do to diminish this effect? I have a new set of front and rear kit stuff. Thickness of old brake pads is inside tolerance. Any ideas?
