Hi all The other day I replaced my front pads with OEM ones. The originals, to my surprise they had a lot of meat still left on them (they just started to squeak like crazy!) So I replaced them anyway. So now here's my problem. The drivers is fine but my passenger side brake is rubbing and producing a lot of heat. I've had them off now a few times today and don't know whats wrong. I have now put on my old set on the passenger side and it is spinning freely. WTF??? Could I have a pair of over beefy pads or is something else a play here??? One other question...What holds the actual rotor onto the housing? Should this be loose or tight?? Thanks.

It locks up the rotor even with the pots fully pushed in so I don't think it could be a sticky caliper, the rotor doesn't looked warped to me and I haven't experienced any brake shudder or wobble....

I'd be checking that the caliper is free to slide. It's designed to move across the rotor to allow for different thickness pads. Sometimes they seize up.
Rotors will usually be held on the hub by a loose fitting spigot ring. The wheel and wheel nuts are what holds the rotor on the hub when the wheels are on.

Unfortunately its not the best designed thing in the world and they do have a tendency to cease up.
At this point if I were you I'd be taking it to a brake specialist or replacing the unit - I'm fine with replacing pads and bleeding, but anything more than that when it comes to brakes, I'd prefer the comfort of knowing someone who really knows whats safe and whats not has fixed the problem. Most important component on the car after all!
