I was flying down this (private) road going pretty quick and when it came for me to pull up, I put on the brakes lightly-moderatly then started to make this really loud winding noise. It was a really bassy sound, um its hard to explain, it was like a sub woofer doing one flat sound brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and winding down as the car slowed down???
now is this normal cos of everything winding down, such as diff, brakes, tyre grip, transmition? or is my diff on its wayout?
See I have never noticed this cos I dont drive this fast everyday. Normal driving the car drives and feels like new. oh brake pads are fine.

No, cars don't generally make bad noises like that unless something is wrong. Might not be too serious, or something that might not show up during normal daily driving for a long time. Still, probably would pay to get it looked at before it does cause major problem. Could be something as simple as something being out of balance (driveshaft perhaps?) or as you say, something nasty like the diff.
