I've used the search and couldn't find anything. I'm looking at upgrading the whole 4 rotors to DBA Slotted. I have standard 91 V8 brakes.

I just need to make sure that these are the right part numbers and are the right size:

Fronts
4748 SL
4748 SR

Rears
4749 SL
4749 SR

You would be better off to get some TT callipers and then DBA TT rotors.

Yeah I know, but TT calipers wont fit my shiny $3k rims. So that's out of the question.

They are the correct V8 Rotors or will I have to cut dust shields etc?

If they are V8 rotors, it will just be a drop in replacement, no need to touch the dust shields.

Ahh now I'm confused.
If what are V8 Rotors?

It says on the website that the Part Number is for a SC400, but that's the same model rotor as SC300 & "Soarer TT" so I'm not sure if they will fit, just want to make sure that they are a direct replacement.

The minute they say it fits a TT, alarm bells start ringing.

TT's and UZZ32 had a bigger rotor and calliper setup than the UZZ30 and UZZ31. So if it fits a TT it will be too big for your V8 (unless it suddenly became an active) :-)

See here for size comparisons.

http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/281/73219.html

The bigger rotors need bigger callipers.

Ring DBA and give them the rotor diameter.

They tell me they don't make rotors for the UZZ31, only JZ & 32's.

I downloaded the catalogue but the only ones that are the same height are some Celica ones, and no other dimensions are the same. Now I want to get a complete set, unfortunately looks like I'll be going the the RDA path.

The JZZ30 and UZZ32 rotors do fit. it is the calipers you need to change as well (on the front).

And Ewww Genuine... I've got them at the moment. What do I want more for?

I'll have a perfectly good set after I get the new ones on.

Why won't TT calipers fit your rims??
Don't tell me you paid 3k for a set of 15 inch wheels??

Yeah that sounds weird that regular old TT calipers wont fit? Sure your not getting confused with Supra 4 Pot calipers?

The 18" x 8.5" rims in your profile look like they would have room.

Apart from which, with your planned modifications, or even your present ones, you need better than stock V8 brakes so if the present wheels do not fit them then get rid of the wheels.

Ahh no not my wheels!

Well does anyone have a spare set of TT Calipers?
If you think that they will fit I'll try them. (I suppose I can always sell them if they don't.) There's not much clearance now... Maybe like 10mm-12mm... (Exhibit A)

How much wider are the TT calipers?
Plenty of room at the back (Exhibit B)

How will my braided cables go as well. I've got the V8 ones and I really don't feel the need to change them again.

The main thing is that the callipers are further out from the hub, as in to fit over the bigger callipers. I don't think there is any real thickness difference. The hoses will be fine.

You could always test one of your wheels on a car with TT brakes.

Now why didn't I think of that...
There possibly could be enough clearance. Now you've got me wondering.

I've ordered a set of TT brakes for the front and rear. I guess I'll find out next week for sure.

Pretty sure they will fit, if the pics are correct on
this post.
