Sup all.
Today i was driving home from a mates place and while driving up epping road (about 65-70kph) i noticed this tapping noise coming from the rear left wheel. I was like hmmm ill pop into a servo and see what the problem is...
Well about 10 secs after this i hear this thump and i looked out the left mirror to see me wheel rolling up the road beside my car.
I was like WTF, so i pulled into the first driveway on the left (only made it halfway in)and had a look only to find that 4 of the 5 wheel studs have snapped.
Has this happened to anyone before? if so how much was it to get fixed. Tow truck was $150 because of all the stuffing around they had to do to get it up there.

i almost had that fate.
3 snapped studs and 2 lose nuts. I heard the noise and work it out just in time.
I think the problem was that they were not all tightened properly and uneven torque applied to each nut. I did have he correct spacer rings so it wasnt that

i think it happened because a few weeks ago i was going around a roundabout and some asian lady was taking it wide, so i had to swerve left and the rear wheel hit the curb. Id say that is what started it.
Just got a call my car is ready to collect so im a happy chappy

It's not spacer rings you need, it's spigot rings.
So important those on a wheel with the incorrect center diameter. This is just an example of what can happen due to over looking it. At least your cars alright Pierre!
Come to think of it, one of my mates cars has this same issue, Better chase him up about getting spigot rings asap!

And get metal Spigot rings. The plastic/rubber ones will disintegrate over time, no matter what the service guys say.
Tempe tyres have metal ones if anyone is after them.
this is very important that the wheel sits on the hub and not the studs. the soarer has 60mm hubs so the inside of your alloy wheel should also be 60mm most aftermarket rims are 73mm wich is too big.
it could mean life and death especially if you are doing 100kmh !!
