Hey guys, Im looking at upgrading my brakes. I have been looking around and haven't found much in the way of brake kits for the soarer.. nothing thats cheap anyway. I Found a guy selling G4 8 piston Brake kits for $2200 for a supra but not a soarer. Will these fit a soarer at all ??? if not what will i need to do to make them fit ???
I have thought about Celsior 4 pots or Supra Big Brakes but wanna go something a bit more aftermarket
Joe R, if you read this... where did you get your Wilwood calipers from and what was the damage ???

Hey mate you can get supra 4 and 2 pots for aprox $1600 complete from Toyota NZ details are on SF.
My wilwoods were a one off buy as they were bought 2+ years ago for somebody who changed their mind, I paid 2k complete with 6 pot ultra light weight calipers, cnc machined adaptors and bolts to fit the soarer, 330mm dba slotted rotors and braided lines. They were originally purchaced from SRE racing Radium ST Welshpool. There was someone selling front and rear wilwood calipers only on supra forum, do a search you will prob find them but will have to hunt for all the other bits you need. I have part numbers for the front rotors and have spare braided lines for the front as I used the Maltech lines I already had on the car. The brakes feel a lot better and more responsive, I haven't hit them hard yet but I'm sure they will be good on the track.

ben i have supra brakes on my soarer not sure what size but they are off a 96 model GT supra and they fit nicely. the only problem is you cant fit all rims on it, have to have a certain off set.

You may have to go to a lower offset Ben but it's actually the design of the wheels and not the offset (at least not alone) that is the deciding factor.

Celsior 4 pots are the best option as they will bolt straight on , I have a problem with the Supra TT calipers as they are STEEL and weigh as much as a super tanker , hate to think what that's doing to the unsprung weight !! I think that the Celsior 4 pots are a better option for a road car as they are alloy , near enough as good and cost less. I wonder if the LS400 dust shields will fit on the Soarer ? I have a spare set of LS400 later model 4 pots if anybody wants some .

Got your email Rich thanks. So do the rotors need to be replaced as well? I have TT calipers and slotted discs on the front of my beast. (already have the Maltech braided hoses)

Like I said, I did think about Celsior 4 pots but want something with that aftermarket look and appeal. I just want to know that if I buy the set for the supre, will they fit my soarer ?

I just installed the UCF20/21 4-pot set-up that Kudos Motorsports sells ($880), it contains Callipers, rotors & new dust covers. The callipers have already been modified so there aren't the clearance issues, as have the dust covers so the hubs doesn't have to be removed.

I do know that Celsior and supra 4 pots fit the soarer fine but what I want to know is if i buy an aftermarket brake kit thats for a supra.. will it also fit the soarer ?? as this company doesn't make a soarer specific kit.

Ben: Yes they will fit on a Soarer if they are made to fit a Supra. The G4/D2/Endless copy's to suit JZA80 supra will fit the soarers. Just need, as stated the correct design rims. Factory 17" Supra rims will clear wilwood, AP, Supra (obviously) and the G4/D2/Endless generic brakes.
