Hi guys,

Wondering is someone can help...

I have a 91 TT soarer and the brakes are squeaking when braking, I pulled the calipers off and looked at the pads, first thing is there are no shims on either side, also one of the retainer clips which the pads lock into with the springs is broken. Does anyone know where you can get the shims or the clips...either new, from a wreckers or from anyone on the forums?

I bought a pair of genuine toyota brake pads (DB1029) with shims, clips etc, but after trying to install them, I discovered they didn't fit and that I require DB1395 pads.

Any advice where I can source the shims and clips would be appreciated.

Sorry Neil, the part number is 04491-33100, I meant to say that the set that I bought are the same dimensions etc to that of the DB1029 pads.

After I bought the pads and found out they did not fit, I was referred to the following site, which showed the differences between the two:

The rattle plates are different not only between top and bottom, but also between models...the picture below is that of the new rattle plates, and the one below it, the difference between the DB1029 and the DB1395 brake sets.

The pad on the left is the one I have on at the moment DB1395 shape, and the one on the right is the new toyota ones which are the DB1029 shape.

Seeming I can't use the new pads I will place them up for sale on the 'Parts for Sale' page.
