noticed when working on a hilux the other day that the brakes appear to be very similar if not the same as the 4 pot celsior brakes.... just thought i would see if any one wanted to do some more research

DBA catalogue suggest the rotors are 6 hole with the largest being 297 mm. So even as a 4pot upgrade the rotor size is still only as large as the TT. When you can buy the celsior calipers so cheaply and the Supra ones new from NZ, then its hard to go past these guaranteed bolt ons with larger rotors.

For us guys who would like 4 pot calipers, and who have TT brakes, this would be interesting, as there are a lot more Hiluxes in the country than celsiors.
4WD gear would be a cheap upgrade to "heavy duty" spec components if there are some parts commonalities. Hilux diffs, for example, have been used under rotaries for years as a lighter alternative to a ford 9 inch.

Yes Ben i agree. If the calipers bolt on then its a good upgrade, not sure on how much they would cost 2nd hand though. I guess the first step is to find out the bolt spacing, or borrow a set..
