Just wanting to know if a brake booster/trac control unit from a 96 uzz31 will fit into a 93 uzz30? Both V8's obviously, but just wanna know if it is a suitable replacement.

Do you have trac control on the UZZ30??

I just brought a replacement for my 91 UZZ30 from The Toy Shop at Beresfield (search google) for $233 including GST and including freight.

There was another place that i found called Jap Parts in Sydney that also had one for $250 including GST but not freight.

Matthew, what is the reason for total replacement ? Do you have any obvious malfunction ? I'm always interested in the workings of the '93 and on electronic Trac/ABS units, currently have one mostly apart trying to find where a squark comes from in the pressure reservoir/pump section.
Magnificent piece of equipment, eventhough it adds another 12kgs to the firewall.

Paul the reason for the full replacement is because that pump or whatever it is that makes that damn noise, is making that noise every two seconds. And also drops the rpm by about 500 every time it does it, quite annoying really. Probably not good for the car either. And every time I start the car a brake system warning comes up on the display and I have done a diagnostic and it comes up with open or short circuit somewhere in the unit. I can't remember exactly where the short was within the unit.

If the pump is continually working,,The Nitrogen charge in the master is low..
While you have the unit out..replace the bushes that support the pump motor.
The low pressure switch will be setting off the Warning..

Neil, the bushes you refer to, are they the steel encased white' neoprene' with drilled flex holes? The ones on the spare unit look superb, will compare with the unit on the car when I've greater understanding of the total workings. Oh for an English translation of the Bible.

I assumed when removing the Nitrogen reservoir from the pump flange that it would have self sealed, now to attempt to determine the nitrogen volume and pressure to spec. and to find a capable refiller.

To Admin. I attempted an image upload and received the message to reduce image to 800 x 0. How do you reduce pixel height to zero??

It means there is no height restriction.
