So I've had my v8 for a couple of months now and never once have I activated the abs under braking. The brake pedal has always been pretty soft and went down to the floor when stationary and still no abs warning. I thought this was just air in the lines so Ive waited till putting on tt brakes to flush and bleed. Did that yesterday only to find exactly the same problem. Pedel still goes down all the way easily and no abs warning. Lots of air came out of the lines when I bled them. Also I noticed that air was escaping the master cylinder when I poured in more fluid. WTF is wrong with my system!

Probably still has air in it. If air gets into the ABS, it's a pig to get out. Your master cylinder seal may be leaking too.

i dont think i wouldve got air into the abs, as i made sure there was a lot of fluid in the master cylinder, they mightve done that last time it got bled. ill bleed it again on the weekend and see how it goes.

If the brake pedal goes right to the floor pretty much i would be looking at your master cylinder. Go to a brakes place like ABS and tell them what is going on. They should be able to help you out.

I am pretty sure that is your problem. Have you checked the level of your brake fluid? I know if it is low it comes up on the dash but its better to be safe then sorry.

If the master cylinder has failed you can either get it re sleeved, get a new one or you can get a new kit for them. Prices i have no idea for the soarer on either.

i suspect there might be a slight trickle of fluid, because it does look like i have lost some.

well had a look around the car, talked to a couple of mechanics. apparently there is NO leak.

No fluid under or on the sides reservoir
No fluid under the car.
No fluid near the master cylinder assembly
No fluid near the calipers
No fluid anywhere near the break lines

there doesnt seem to be a loss of fluid anymore but the damned pedal still goes to the floor, but its a bit harder to do it now. any more suggestions other than a shot master cylinder?

You can still have a shot master cylinder even with no lose of fluid.

Your best bet is to take it off and take it to a brakes mechanic and get them to look at it.. They will be able to tell you what is wrong.

If you have made certain you have bled the brakes completely then its definately something up the line, it will be either the master cylinder or the ABS system if your car has it.

id say your primary or secondary piston seal within the master has got a tear in it.

This will cause the high pressure section of the master to leak back into the return port, so you will loose pedal feel and brake pressure.
