Hmmm okay, as the title says...

Which brakes from another Toyota are best to put on the rear of a UZZ30?

Can you use UCF20 LS400 rear brakes?
JZZ31/UZZ32 rear brakes?
Supra 2 pot rear brakes?

Which is the best way to go, which ones fit correctly?

I know there are a few posts about all this, but none are really specific.

Supra 2 pots FTW Mike.

I have been hunting for a set to match my 4 pot fronts but no luck.

Rutherford and Bond sells new front or rear kits for $1100 but that's a bit pricey for me!

Hmm yeah... I thought they might be a hard thing to find.

For now I might stick with my V8 rear brakes and just upgrade the pads to some suitable ones.

I'm going to give the TRD Blue series pads a go up front in my 4 pot brakes. Shall see how they go.

Let us know what you think of the pads. I am running stock pads and the four pots are such a massive upgrade over stock I don't know if trick pads are worth it or not.

Yeah thats what I though.

Apparently TRD's range of Blue, Black and then Red (race) pads all have different properties.

Can only get blue, but they seem to be the best balanced ones for break dust/squeal, force and wear.

JZZ30/UCF20/JZA80 (NA) all run the same rear setup afaik (Which is also the same caliper from the UZZ30, just a bigger rotor and bracket)

So my current UZZ31 rear calipers will fit on JZZ31 rear discs, and just need to modify the mounting bracket?

Sorry for thread hi-jack here just I have some supra 4 pots for front and some JZZ31 rear's, just have not got around to fitting them yet as I am still hunting for some wheels with enough off set and at the right price.

If you can still use your UZZ30 rear calipers with some JZZ31 discs Mike then I would go for that as there is a guy called Darren who is selling discs on trade me:

Just if you are not too keen on spending a fortune then I guess it would be the cheaper option.

My 2c worth...

Yup, although personally I wouldn't modify the bracket as it'll just make for a pain at WOF time, and I don't think the JZZ30 ones are that rare....might even be available from Toyota (potentially a small fortune though)

I saw somewhere on this forum not long ago that you can get front and rear kits together for $1500!
