Hey guys.
Have been aware of this noise for a while now. I get a fairly loud "clunk" when i'm braking for example coming to a stop before traffic lights. This used to happen only very occasionally and seems to be starting to get more frequent.
It seems to only happen when braking and usually only at slow speeds when coming to a stop.
I'm planning to get it into the mechanic fairly soon but if anyone has any ideas on the problem or has this happen some feedback would be appreciated.

Transmission mount, or coupling on the drive shaft. Mine does the same, clunks basically when going back to first at low speeds. My trans mount is worn and I am getting a new one next week.
I need to check the service history because I asked for a check on the trans axle, but there is also some other adjustment, which I can't remember off the top of my head just now.
If it is none of that (for me at least), then I am thinking the auto could be due for a service and what ever else may/should be done when it gets to 18 years old.

from my experience this sounds more like the transmission mounting. So before heading off down an incorrect, and more expensive, path of replacing LCA bushes, have the transmission mounting checked.
I have the clunk too at low speeds - I have had all my bushes replaced but not so sure if I have replaced the transmission mounting so will check through my records.
