Spent part of today giving the front brakes a bit of an overhaul.
Took the Supra 4 pots off and sanded and preped and painted them. Bit of a typical colour but there isn't much to choose from in the high temp ranges.
Had the TRD rotors surface ground as well as there was a slight warp that you could just notice
Fitted new TRD pads and a set of Goodridge braided brake lines.
I wish I had fitted the lines first or last and done some test runs in between as it's hard to know what has caused the noticable improvement in the braking.

Looks fantastic Matt.
Did you have the standard Toyota rotors on previously or anything? Would be interested in the difference between the TRD rotors and the factory Toyota rotors.

Thanks guys.
Vinh - yes I had the standard rotors on originally when I bought the 4 pots but quickly changed them to the TRD's when I got a ridiculously good price on them.
No noticeable change in braking though, I don't do any motorsport or anything though and I would expect to see the difference under sustained heavy use.

i just had a set of braided steel lines fail on me. they weren't Maltech lines. Think they were the same as them. keep an eye on the joint between the hose and fitting closest to the wheel for any wear. i will not fit steel lines again.

Hey Matt, just out of curiosity have you gotten a WOF with those lines yet? Just I was told by my mate who does WOF's that you are not allowed braided lines. Not too sure if he is correct or not but just putting it out there....
I see there is some of the exact same for sale on trade me at the moment too.

No I haven't had a WOF yet.
The guy selling them says they are WOFable and no cert is needed. I spoke to a local brake place and they confirmed that braided lines are acceptable as long as they have crimped and not screw on fittings - they agreed that that doesn't really make much sense but that is the current situation.
Looking at the Goodridge lines they appear to be crimped so should be okay. Will be disappointing if don't pass as the seller would be deliberately misleading people then.

Sorry Pen, Yes as damian states. Looked the same as the Goodridge ones fitted.
Under full lock, the angle of the wheel and caliper is enough to stress the braid against the fitting and cause it to fray over time. I used to keep a close eye on them but hadnt inspected for a while as hardly drive the car. Didnt see the wear start. But felt the pedal hit the floor without the car stopping! was just pressing fluid onto the road and wheel arch. Fun

I installed my goodridge lines..... 100% perfect and the feel is great.
I think the problem that people experienced when installing is that they did not know the bolt in brace is movable and thus, should be moved to the bracket position as pictured above.
Top lines and compatible with all Supra/Soarer brakes
