Hey guys, looking into a brake setup soon, basically I believe Supra JZA80 calipers won't fit behind my existing wheels on front (18x8.5F+35/18x9.5R+35)...So apparently the Celsior 4 pots are about 10mm smaller in disk size and width is also slimmer, so I just want to confirm these will be fine.

I am looking at Celsior 4 pots up front and Supra 2 pots on the rear cheers guys,

have done a search and came up with this, but just want to ensure the width is sufficient to clear my wheels.

Christian,if your wheels wont fit Supra 4 pots they wont fit Celsior 4 pots.

You need approx 65mm from the face of the disc to the inside of the spoke or face of the rims.

best way to find out is to find someone who will let you fit your front wheel on their supra/ls400.

as depending on if your spokes have a bend in them measuring the 65mm can be inaccurate.

do remember that the supra calipers have a 8mm extruded bit that can be machined down, i know my wheels need about 5mm taken of that bit.

hope it helps.

mmm, I will have to do a dummy test then hey, will see if anyone in SA has these brakes on their Soarer, cheers for the help guys, IF they fit, would the best option be:
F:Celsior 4 pots with DBA 4000 Rotors
or Supra 4 pots (machined face) with above rotors
R:Supra 2 pots with DBA 4000 Rotors
All with braided lines?

That'd be my idea setup.

FYI, from my measurements, you need 67-70mm clearance between the brake disc rotor face and the wheel spoke.

Hey Christian,

I have Supra brakes all round. I have allot less than 65 - 70mm clearance at the inner of my rims. When the car is driving, it almost looks like the calipers are further out than the rims on the right angle. Pretty neat illusion.

I'll measure it for you and post some pics this week but I think I had about 57mm and have 5-7mm clearance at the closest point.

Cheers.

Guys, it is not offset that will allow you to fit wheels over big brakes it is disc clearance that allows wheels to clear, design does help.

My wheels are high disc clearance fronts and low disc rear, my rear wheels will not fit on the front even though the spoke design looks as if they should fit.

X factor is the term that has been used for clearance.
I have a set of 18x8 offset 36 that only just clear celsior 4 pots and 18x9 offset 42 with about 20mm clearance.
Looking at a set of 17x8.5 offset 48 that will clear big brakes.

Hey Christian,

Here are various pics of the Supra brakes fitted to my car.

As you can see, I have about 55mm at the inner point of the spokes.

Hope this helps

But your best bet would be to try fitting your wheels up to an existing setup.

Clearance required to stock 2 pot front rotors is different to the 4 pots as the 4 pot rotors are further offset if I recall correctly.

Supra rims which have just enough clearance are about 61-62mm from the stock TT rotors from memory.
