hi everyone, i've recently worked out my accumulator must be stuffed as its squeeking down the pedal and the pump is running every time i press the pedal making my lights etc dim.
i have a whole spare brake system on a half cut sitting in my back yard so i'm just hoping i can replace the abs/mastercylinder unit in one hit. is there a guide or how to any where that can explain how to do this?
do i have to drain the whole system first? and are there any tricky bolt placements i should know about before i start. just trying to work out how long this job might take me.

Hi Shane (again) Can't remember if there is a guide but I have done that job a couple of times a few years ago. You need to pump the brake pedal a few times with the engine off to discharge pressure in the accumulator before you start. You don't have to drain any systems. There are electrical plugs all around the unit that have to be unplugged. The clevis pin attached to the brake pedal needs to be removed. The 4 mounting nuts are also on the inside firewall but leave these until you have disconnected everything else in the engine bay. You can get the unit out with the accumulator still attached, but it is damn heavy. You have to disconnect all the brake lines at the abs pump and the mastercylinder. Also there are a couple of brackets near the shocky tower that make it easier if they are not there. I don't recall if there is anything else to come off.
After re-assembly you will have to bleed the accumulator and the pump before you can bleed the mastercylinder.
