Last couple of weeks my soarer has developed a random vibration coming from the left rear. I had it in to a few suspension places who couldn't work it out. In the end I decided to take a look at it myself and discovered the left rear disc is a bit loose. Ie: you can move it side to several millimeters. I checked the other side and it doesn't budge. I installed new rear discs about half a year ago with new brake pads and had no issues till now. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm guessing either the hub has somehow worn allowing the disc to move a bit?

The disk is normally held in place by the wheel and wheel nuts clamping it against the hub. If it is loose when the wheel is fitted, then you have a problem. Tried swapping the wheels over?

Sounds like your wheel is about to fall off.

Were the wheel nuts loose?

Had the wheel off a dozen times so wheel nuts are perfectly tight (torqued 122NM). It isn't loose when wheel is fitted and done up. The wheel gets very hot while others are cold to touch. Can't swap wheels around as they're directional tyres with wide rear and narrow fronts.

Sounds like wheel bearing to me. Matt.

I think you're right Matt. Spoke to my dad and he said the same thing.

It could also be the brake calliper sticking.

Yes, but a suspension places would surely have picked up something so simple as a wheel bearing. You can check for it without removing the wheel from the car. If it is the wheel bearing then brace yourself as they are a pain in the arse to replace. Not technically difficult, but you feel like you are dismantling the entire rear of the car...

Yep, but a suspension "specialist" knows about things that go up and down, not round and round. haha...specialists-I really wonder sometimes?

Ok. I got the torque wrench out by unfortunately mine only goes up to 208, so I set it to maximum (got my wife to stop on brake) and tightened it pretty hard. Went for a drive and all is well now. It was just a slightly loose wheel bearing.

Haha don't wife's love helping with the soarers.mine insists that she hates my soarer, but when I need her to help bleed my clutch or brakes she's so up for it. Good to see it was a easy fix. Still keep an eye on it but to check that it dosnt loosen again.you may new to replace in the ner future

Lol, I say it's her car so she must help. She also has to undo the oil filter as my arms don't fit in there. I will replace the bearing to be on the safe side as the wheel is getting warm. Not hot like previously but noticeably warmer than the rest.

I followed a tutorial I found on a Supra forum. Same hub, yada, yada. Was just a bit easier to follow than the workshop manual and the tips were handy. I might have it saved at home somewhere. I don't think anyone ever put it up on here.
