Hey guys, 1st post for me since the move to soarercentral, so here goes.
I have JZX90 toyota chaser, and I have a really bad shudder under light braking, but if you apply it heavier it goes away. I have had it for around 5 months and finally I decided to look into it. I thought it was the brakes as rotors front and rear were both below legal thickness, but after installing DBA 4000 rotors and Endless pads, it’s still there. I’m just curious as to what it might be as I’m thinking it might be one of 3 things 1) front bushes – ball joints, wheels incorrectly balanced (which I doubt as wheels were only done recently) or suspension is shagged. Also my front tyre wear has gone through the roof in the last few weeks which leads me to think the bushes, any idea on where to go to get it looked at?
Also for the technical minded people out there, the rear brakes on a JZX90 or 100 chaser are not the same as any other Toyota. The are made specifically to this model, as after 3 days of trying different brands (bendix, ferrodo etc) all pad shapes were different to what I had. Everything from v8, twin and single soarer/supra. I had to order from japan, and the guys I dealt with (centrax) have been in business a fair few years now and I was the first to have ever ordered that pad, they were very surprised.

I think it could be control arm bushes namely lower arm, as I've notice mine doing the same, and my bushes have just started knocking when going in odd driveways etc. They don't always knock though...worth a look.
