Some companies advertise brake pads for 96 to 2000 soarers. Is there any difference in the year of the soarer as to the brakes?
I thought that a TT was one kind of brake and the V8 was another, except the 32 active, which is the same as the TT. Then the 3 ltr six was the same as the TT, regardless of year. Am I right? Thanks John

Mate they all run the same rear pads , just the TT UZZ32 have a larger rear rotor and different caliper mount .
BEWARE !!! There are 2 parts numbers for the rear , ONLY 1 will fit and work properly .
Bendix correct number is DB1396 Rda correct number is RDB1396
There is another part number listed to " fit " which is DB1234 or RDB1234 . THESE WILL NOT FIT . They are designed for the Celsior v8 only .
Ive found out the hard way , after previous owner had the incorrect ones fitted and they git stuck in thr caliper bracket causing the piston to pull 1 pad only and damaging my rear hub bearing and driveshaft and Abs too !
Hope this helps .

No Lawrence I haven't decided yet but I tend towards the ceramic as they give better life and better bite to your rotors.
I am waiting to get my 32 back from the paint shop and will look at both cars, front and back and see what I need, as I have not done break pads on either car yet. I just know that my 32 needs rears soon, roadworthy told me.
I noted that in the workshop manual they can go right down to 1 mil thickness according to Toyota. I have had thoughts of changing my 31 fronts to TT rotors and if I do that I will not buy new V8 pads for it.
I followed the recent story on the wrong pads on the back of Daniel's and how much hassle that caused.

I upgraded my v8 to TT brakes. Slight improvement not heaps. Then I put the celsior 4 pot on the front and made a huge difference. Even with crap tyres the brakes are crazy. Good combo with the TTs on the back.
How much is involved in putting the rear Supra brakes ( 2 piston ) on the soarer? Are the handbrake pads the same? Obviously need to change the dust shield, the discs are much larger, any other changes?
