Hi guys,
I've finally had enough of the old 'bird chirp' noise and the 'BRAKE FAULT' error ping, so am booking my car in to get the accumulator replaced.
Can someone please confirm that ABS error 55 and TRC error 51 means the accumulator needs replacing? Or is the pump on it's way out?
Note: Bird chirp noise happens every time i depress the brakes (sometimes every 2nd). When 'BRAKE SYSTEM ERROR' comes up, it does not affect usage of TRC (can still turn TRC on or off and it works).
Note 2: Once the brake error light comes on, it stays on until i turn the car off . Thanks in advance.

mine was doing the same thing. and i over hauled my acumulator (re gassed it with nitrogen) and i now offer this service out to other people, here's my thread about it.
i can't remember exactly which error codes where being thrown at me but i'm fairly certain it was one of those two, once i got the accumulator going again the error disappeared, so you should be good once you get it done

ah thanks for the link, i live in New Zealand so it works out cheaper to buy brand new from Toyota. Can anyone else confirm their symptoms and results?

I recently had a trc 51 error but my nitrogen canister just got rebuilt. The next day faults gone by itself Apparently it could be a sensor playing u Your codes seem to point to pump playing up from my recent searches on google. Google codes and a list should come up on soarerworld?

Thanks Dave, i have it booked at Waikato Toyota next week for diagnostics, just worried about safety.
TRC works fine, both in operation and light function. I can hear/feel the pump work when i first turn the car on for 20 seconds (which is normal), then for about 1 second each time i depress the brakes, sometimes more than once if it's a long brake

I have mine booked in tomorrow as the hose that connects the power steering header tank to the pump is split at the header tank end. Not easy to get at and don't want fluid all over the alternator or anywhere else.

if you want to save your self the hassle you can goto any bearing/seal shop and buy that o-ring for about 20c (if that), just take it in and they'll match the size and make sure you get it in nitrile
