Hey everyone, doing a k-Sport d2 brake upgrade... Need to know if the master will support the massive calipers... If not what are my master upgrade options?

Thanks guys

im unsure if the master will support the 8 pots perhaps you could get some more info from the seller and get the specks for fluid usage and pressure. also if you find out that it wont support the brakes you could get the master bored oversize and use oversize seals.

Was talking to my mate who owns a supra... He rekon the master is the same as his tt master... And they can run 8pot calipers no problem... Cause the 8 pistons are much smaller then the 4 pistons so they require similiar pressures...

Ok was on the fone to my brake supplier today... He said the brake package is designed to work off the factory master... So there you go... Brake upgrade coming soon:-)

I wonder how the 8 pot brakes pull up compared to the Supra 4 pots???

I could be wrong but i'm guessing more bling than much else, if the standard M/Cyl can handle it i'm thinking there is not much more piston volume displacement & so little gain ??

but couldn't the same be said between the standard soarer brakes and 4 pots but there is a massive improvement over stock. so i would have thought that 8 pots would be better again and if nothing else maximize braking performance by spreading the load more evenly on the pad

There are a lot of factors but the Supra runs larger diameter discs too doesn't it ?? These possibly run larger discs too so I should have said maybe not much advantage over a Supra set up .. Spreading the load over a bigger pad will not help much in braking force, just the pad will probably last longer as its bigger & maybe less heat soak / fade too ?? But you would have to be doing some pretty serious track work to possibly see any advantage in heat soak ..

I personally would not run them on the street and would be CLOSELY inspecting them after every track day

I guess the supra 4 pots are tried and tested.
