my front brakes are "dragging" after use. I had a spare pr of pads and have fitted them and then bled all 4 wheels. Fronts are still dragging, Mainly LHS.
It is like the piston is jamming and not retracting fully. Apart from the piston actually jamming, can anything else cause this problem?

I would say more than likely its the calliper slides which are jammed / gummed up and are causing the dragging ..
When you put in the new pads did the calliper pistons push back in fairly easily especially the LHS side as you said that's the one dragging & if so again it points to the slide pins ..

Tom I had this exact same issue. The mechanic at the time told me he would send off the caliper for rebuild. $350+ and car off the road for whatever amount of time. I just bought front and rear TT brakes for about $150 for both and never looked back. Gained braking power as well.

spare pads were off my sons car. the drag now is just a slight noise, but it doesnt stop the car rolling. I will let them "bed" in a couple of days and see how they go.

found the noise. 1 of the backing plates had fallen off the inside pad when i removed it and lodged between the rotor and the "guard". When i put the new pads on i looked for the 2nd plate, couldnt see it on the ground and assumed it only had the 1 fitted. No noises and appears normal now. A closer inspection of the removed pads has shown a crack between the actual pad and the metal bracket. (IE the bonding of the pad was breaking)
