Hi All,

So I'm doing some work on the Soarer again.

I replaced the factory accumulator with a rebuilt item a while ago which wasn't gassed in the first place.

So I went to take it off tonight to take it to work to re-gas and the upper half started to undo from the lower rather than undoing from the brake assembly.

So, before I take to this with hammer, any ideas?

I am using a strap type oil tool which I used to remove the original and the replacement on there now was only "nipped" up.

Cheers.

Hmmm tricky, can't get a pair of vice grips or similar on the lower half?

I was lucky my accumulator had a schrader valve attached so I could regas it in situ back up to a little over 1000psi, seemed it had fallen to around 600psi, not sure when it was regassed but it must have been a while ago.

Thanks Mike,

I already have the valve on top but wanted to remove the whole accumulator again to re-gas it as the Soarer is not registered at the moment.

Also now the top section started to undo, I'm not sure if this will affect the likelihood of it leaking.

Cheers.

you could screw the top on with some locktite let it set then screw the whole assy off. Once you have it off you could heat with a heat gun to soften the locktite and then unscrew the two halve with strap wrenches or something similar.

They just run a couple of O ring seals, so seal quite well.

I hand tightened a spare one and gassed it up to 1000psi, couple of weeks later the pressure was still at that level.

But yeah, could be a good idea to remove it, new seals and clean it out etc. Certainly worth doing.
