after replacing a brake master cylinder (non trc) and bleeding the brakes a couple of times, the pedal will still go slowly to the floor if held on.

I have read that air in the ABS unit can do this, and that it needs to "purged" of air. How is this done?

sounds like seals faulty in master cylinder, Was it reco or new that you replaced it with? there is a company that resleves the cylinders in Brass then new high quality seals, when done this way will last 20 years ++
