Is there a difference between the ABS unit on the 1JZ car from that used on the Limited V8?
Can they be interchanged? |

John, I don't know, but keep in mind the V8 can have either ABS only or with TRC and they are completely different units as I understand.
But I might be wrong too.  |

Hello Peter,
I have a V8 31 that does not have traction control that I use as a spare parts car. I am wondering what is involved in taking the cruise control off it and putting it on my newly aquired 1JZ that did not have cruise. It was the base simplest model. |

The 31 that I have does not have traction control, neither does the 1JZ car, so can I use the traction control off the 31 and use it on the 30?
Can anyone advise? Thanks. |

When I was taking off in slippery conditions in my UZZ30 without traction control, I would put it in 2nd gear with ECT in Power. Worked a treat and allowed for decent launches still. |

thanks Peter, good idea but I am sorry for miswording of my last post. I meant: Could I use the ABS off the 31 on a 1JZ car or is it different? I slipped in writing "traction control" instead of the word ABS.
The only reason for talking about traction control was to differentiate between models with and without traction control, thinking that it may make a difference to the type of ABS that they used. |

The 1Jz car I have has a 3 point outlet master cylinder, whereas my V8 donor car has a 2 point master cylinder. What is the difference?
Can I use the ABS unit off the V8 on the 1JZ car if I put a blank in the 3rd outlet of the master cylinder?
Is there any difference in wiring loom? My 1JZ has been rewired and the wires for the ABS removed, so I need to know what wiring is required. Thank for any help.
If there is anyone on here who can help with advice or even who can do this sort of work without costing a fortune it would be most appreciated. |
