ATTENTION ALL V8 OWNERS, UPGRADE TO TT BRAKES NOW!!
Have just finished fitting TT brakes to my V8.
Best money I have ever spent. So much more braking power and confidence when the need arrives.
I would recommend this upgrade as the best thing you can do to a V8.

Good work Ian. Braided brake lines also help - much better pedal feel.

Peter, I used Bendix Advance. We deal with Bendix for our truck brakes, so I got a good deal.
I had Advance pads on my V8 brakes, and I know not alot of people on here dont like Bendix, but I dont race, so they are OK.
I was around in the Metal King days,so I stick with Bendix.

Avin, I had the same problem. I used the springs out of my V8 calipers.
Jamie, I think Supra brakes are bigger. Should fill out better than TT.

I am selling Soarer TT 2 pot stoppers.

However I have 1 set of Celsior 4 pot callipers, including pads for $550. These weigh 8kg less than Supra callipers and are easy to fit. Plus posatge.

The Celsior has the same rear callipers as the Soarer, no advantage at all.

This is a complete set of fronts, the pads alone (used) are probably worth $100.

There is a set of brakes to suit a Toyota Altezza?
Lexus 200 on Ebay. Would they fit a Soarer?

Ian: do the springs from the V8 fit? I was told they were different?
Cool, that saves a headache!

Avin, if you mean the thin wire spring clip that goes between the 2 disc pads(2 on each caliper),
yes they do. Not exactly the same shape, but mine
fitted. They are to keep the pads from rubbing on the disc when foot not on brakes.

And the little brass pad clips are the same too. Just hope you don't lose the little square carbon shims that go with them.

I've just joined the V8 brake upgrade club too, got front discs, calipers, pads off a front cut for $250

Discs had almost no wear in them, calipers were like new...

The result is the brakes not only have enough bite to finally give the ABS a proper workout but they also feel far more progressive and a lot more confidence-inspiring

As everyone above has said, this is one of those must-do mods for UZZ30/31 owners!

Nice work Phil

I've got the itch to upgrade now.

Jeff - got any more stoppers coming in soon? The local import place tried to tell me that all Soarer and Celsior brakes were the same...

I suppose the fact that you also have new pads doesn't get any credit?

Not really, the V8 pads were only ~5000km old

The difference in braking was immediately apparent, and this is before the TT pads have even bedded in...
