Every time I started the Car the Brake Booster Pump will run for 30 seconds. It would then cycle on for 5 seconds and off for 10 seconds.

I had seen a couple of Posts that changing the Brake Accumulator would fix the Problem. I was a bit sceptical as it seemed to run for a long time on startup and the on/off action made me think it was indeed pressurising the accumulator. NOW i Think it was just timers controlling the pump ON/OFF times.

ANYHOW... I changed the accumulator. (This was done in the car a 2 minute job!!!! just used a pipe wrench to loosen and then unscrew and swap over).

Result
Turned ignition on and the motor ran for 2 minutes. I waited for 5 minutes and not one cycle (my accumulator was second hand) So really impressed.

If you have a cycling Brake booster pump, definitely change the accumulator, worked for me and no mechanical time just remove the rubber boot unscrew and swap!

Brendon where did you get the accumulator from?

Brendon, yours was a prime example of low accumulator nitrogen pressure.
Very surprised you were able to replace the accumulator in situ considering the headroom available. Did you have any difficulties in that regard?
Next time the car has sat for a while, say overnight, then time the run of the booster pump and report back. Mine runs for about 26 secs each morning and there's no alarms, yet yours ran for only 4 secs more and was rooted.

I replaced mine a bit over a week ago, if you have TRC and are getting brake system warnings, chances are the accumulator is so low on pressure that topping up the fluid is not the answer. Change the accumulator, takes about 20 mins, job done.No more klingon messages.

Neil can supply new accumulators, for a very good price. Allow about 4 weeks to deliver.
