I remember reading a while ago on ALSC someone made a post with basic measurements for wheels to check for large brake clearance. I think it was Pete Scott from memory? Does anyone know roughly how much clearance is required to fit the Supra TT calipers?

7cm from disk to inside of rim spokes (68mm just might do it)

Does the supra 4 potters and the soarer TT disks have the same hat depth?

Ben, according to DBA the hat depths are as follows:

JZZ30 - 19mm
UZZ31 - 21.5mm
JZA80 (4 pot) - 20mm

Daniel, yes it's a bolt on job.

Just trying to decide whether I go LS400 or Supra ones...

Well, that was an easy decision... only 6mm clearance from rotor to closest part of inside rim

Are there any clearance problems with the LS400 calipers?

6mm or 60mm to the rotor? (big round shiney thing :-) ) Either way you won't fit the supra or LS400 brakes behind those rims as they both need the same clearance.

An excellent and much cheaper upgrade for the UZZ31 is to get TT Soarer front and rear brakes with decent pads and braided brake lines which you'd want to get anyway. No clearance issues either unless you have 15" stockies.

Yeah, 60mm sorry (typing too quick)

I thought the LS400 was a smaller caliper and as such, didn't have the same clearance issues as the Supra ones?

Nah, they're pretty similar size but the 4-pot LS400 callipers do weigh a few kg less than the Supra ones.
