well, i've got my first track day coming up, and having spent a few weeks getting the engine and auto sorted (shift kit, tranny cooler, fmic, pod, boost controller, fuel adjuster) its now time i turn my attention to my brakes.
wondering if people can recommend any good pads/rotors/setups for use on the track, that will also still serve me well enough for daily driving? are slotted rotors necessary for the track? if so, can someone give me some ballpark figures, so i know i'm not gonna get ripped if i do purchase them?

From what ive seen DBA 4000 series slotted rotors with supra 4 pots would be a good setup, and EBC green stuff pads for use on the track seems like good combo. as for price, i have no idea, couldnt find any prices on the DBA website, but im sure some of the other guys will have an idea

I used ferodo DS2500 pads on my S15 200SX with excellent results on both the street and track (combined with DBA 4000 rotors and decent fluid). I'd be curious to see how the combo works on the heavier soarer, but from what i've heard, they should do a good job - and even better if you can combine them with the 4pot supra brakes..

Up the front I have LS400 (Celsior) 4-pot front brakes with RDA slotted disks, braided brake lines and Ferodo DS2500 pads and on the rear I have Soarer TT disks and callipers with EBC kevlar pads and braided lines and I use Motul RBF600 fluid which Manny put me onto. At Oran Park I had the front brakes smoking (not heaps) but no fade whatsoever. Previous to that was Wakefield Park but with Dot4 Castrol brake fluid and the pedal felt a tad softer but no real fade.
Even if you put DS2500 pads in your TT front brakes you'll be happy but I use standard toyota pads on the street as the Ferodos are a bit wooden when cold.

For any of the 4-pot brakes braided lines are a must or you will have a low pedal. I went with standard Supra rotors with the Supra 4-pots as they are heaps cheaper than DBA.

Daniel, only got a 1.20 at Wakefield but that was my first track day. Oran park was much better considering my relatively overweight/underpowered UZZ31
1.13s at Wakefield Park 0.52s at Oran Park South on semi-slicks Supra 4 pots front Supra 2 pots rear DBA 4000 slotted front and rear Hawk HPS+ pads Braided lines Motul RBF600 and a few suspension mods but full weight

what power do you have Emanuel - they're pretty good times! i did a 1:13 in my relatively stock R32GTR.. makes me happy to see that the soarer can still get around a track at a decent pace!
Juzza Since skill, power and terminal speed doesn't account for it, brakes may explain why you're apparently fast around PI - they're useless at slowing you down!
They have apparently changed compounds in the last few years which may have corrected the previous issues with pad material breaking up, but I don't give anyone a second chance if they f@ck me up once!
