Removing the Door Trim. All photos and work are courtesy of Theo from GT Autosound.
In the hinge side of door find and remove the plugs/covers over the 2 screws. They just pop off if you lever them gently with a flat screwdriver. Remove these 2 screws.
Remove three screws from along the bottom of the door.
Remove the 2 screws inside of the handle.
Remove the backing plate inside of the door release. Gently prise it out with a flat screwdriver.
Remove the screw on the door release.
Using a screwdriver, prise out the switch panel in the handle.
Unplug all of these electrics (be careful not to break any clips).
Gentle pull the door trim away from the door, but not too far as it is still attached.
Be careful not to damage the pin at the top right corner of the door trim. You need to line this up when you put the trim back on.
If you have switches in the upper door panel (UZZ31) unclip the cable for them.
You will see 2 cables running from the inside door handle to the door locking mechanism. Prise them out of the sleeve retaining bracket, then move the cable around away from the trim to allow the cable end to slide up out of it's holder.
You can now remove the door trim and put it out of the way where it won't get damaged.
Refitting the trim, is a reversal of this procedure.
