As you may know my TT soarer was written off in a hit and run. See post
https://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/285/100922.html?1158908225
for details.

After owning a TT I have heard so much about the UZZ32 Active suspension soarers I decided that I would just have to go and check them out.
Rob Hayden graciously allowed me to see not only his beautiful cars but his operation where he turns a great soarer into something that is in immaculate and as close to new as you will ever see. All of Rob’s cars were in immaculate condition; they are a true tribute to a lot of dedicated hard work by both Rob and Suzy.

The 32’s handling was truly amazing, Rob 32’s drove so smoothly over bumps you simply didn’t feel them. The most amazing part was when you head for some corners. Going around any corner a break neck speed the car was flat and stable, Rob pointed out that you make a large correction mid corner or even slam on the breaks very late while turning and the car still remains stable and in complete control. Simply like nothing I had ever seen in a stock car.

The best way I can think of describing the handling is that it is somewhat similar to a set of tuned rock hard coilovers in a MX5 that I have been in. With the MX5 the only problem was the ride was so harsh you had a sore arse after a 10 minute cruise.

Rob and Suzy’s special treatment process was very impressive. The work was better than you would see in professional shops. As Rob put it, every thing is striped and the car is rebuild from the shell up. Nothing goes back together broken or dirty, once finished the car is in as new condition as you will ever get.

It was clearly evident that they are both very fussy and particular. They pay an extreme attention to detail and take the time to do everything right. The main difference that I can see from getting the work done in professional shops and doing it yourself like Rob and Suzy is that they are not working to a clock or a budget. Professional’s while they do a good job they always end up cutting corners and covering things so you don’t end up with a perfect as new finish.

Once again, thank you Rob and Suzy this was a great to see you in action and to be privileged to have a ride in your amazing cars

Did Rob take you for a drive in the Supercharged one??
When I got my active my first visit was Rob place before I headed back home to Sydney.
Well I was in love with the purple Active with the C's supercharger. Made my car look so slow.
If any one ever gets a car off Rob and the car would feel as new as it just left the factory.

I cant wait to see Rob's new workshop on the block. It's going to be big!

I was lucky enough to have a ride in both N/A and the supercharged.

Both different but both awesome in there own way, as for the bat cave I don't see that being his style.

It certainly does, much better than I expected.

If you look through the dyno library on planet soarer there is a huge difference between the V8's.

Some of the modified V8 with exhaust and intake have similar specs to a few of the standard ones.

I am on the VERY exclusive list of people who have driven it too!

I know of another little secret that maybe Damian might find himself in, he probably just doesn't know it yet! HAHAHA!

I was only a passenger but that was more than enough to appreciate how amazing the green 32 was.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAH, Damian - you got a ride in his pride and joy.. and you're still happy? I assume he hasn't charged you the price of admission yet?

I've only been in the purple supercharged one, yet the price of admission to that one was steep enough. That's why I'm still walking funny. Though those snap lane changes at 120kmh really fixed my neck up good and proper!
