It was my first time seeing the Top Fuel cars, I still cant believe how bloody loud they are, its amazing. We were sitting on a angle behind the drag cars when they were about to take off.

The last time I saw the Yank's In australia was 27 years ago at castleray(I think that's how you spell it)dragway.Back then we were sitting 50 meters away from the track now you just about sit on top of them.I thought it was a bit steep in ticket price($50) but by the end of the day I could see why,the entertainment was great for the price.

On tuesday I was sitting under the big screen until the the sun started to go down then I sat near the burnout pad in the seated area about half way down.

I will be running a copy of the day.I can run a copy for you and give it to you the next time I head out to the drags.

Cool mate, That would be great.

Yeah my mate from work used to race at castleray (spelling)

It was abit steep being $50, But i agree aswell the entertainment was great. I actually also liked walking around the back (pits) and watching the crews strip the engine down and make sure everything was ok, and have it up and running again with in 1hour. We actually stayed back when it ended and had a walk around the pits, they were all still working striping the engines down, A couple of them had to replace the engines because they caught fire, it was interesting to see how its all done and to see what damage the fire caused.

I had a joke with my mate when the Snap On sponsored Top Fuel car forget the guys name, but the guy who ran the 1st record breaking time....I watched them strip the engine down and rebuild it just before they ran the car, So i said see they ran that time cause i was Supervising lol.

Actually what did you think off the record 4.5, we actually picked that it looked like it ran faster then the previous Snap On Sponsored Top Fueler. Your probally thinking how can you pick a tenth of a second difference, But the guys around us seemed to agree, was wondering if you and the guys around you thought the same?

Don!

Shane! I have to agree it did look faster but the reason for that is the reaction time also the launch.when you look at each run you could see the difference.

Haha good to see you guys appreciated the show!
4.51 seconds at 332 mph is world class, the quickest ever time is 4.42 seconds and I think the fastest speed is 335/336.
To see four 4.5 passes, a few 4.6s and so many passes over 300mph would have been awesome.

Yeah was great Luke, i had no idea about the times etc of Top Fuelers (as it was my 1st time)

So i appreciated it more because i had a former drag racer with me and his brother who still races top door slammers. So they were explaining everything and how big a deal the times were.

Quote Luke " Can you tell I'm a drag nut!"

I can understand why people love it so much after being there and experiencing it, Im pretty sure i will be at the next big top fuel meet at WSID.
