I read about this Jaguar in the Fin Review today. Imagine a sleek fast 2+2 coupe with a V8 engine of about 4 litres producing around 220kw giving a 0-100 time in the low 6 seconds. Add to this a luxurious interior which even has a touch screen to manage major functions in the car. For a safe fast ride include an advanced all-independent suspension for comfort and grip with ABS, LSD and traction control. Around 1600Kg with all the leather and luxury but set off by the stylish long bonnet and guttural burble from the advanced and smooth V8. Certainly a car to be desired in 2006 for $200,000.
Think I will just pop out for a drive in my 1994 Soarer, to see if I can imagine what it would be like to drive the same car for ten times the price.

David, it sounds like my Soarer, but slower and ten times the price, and 2 extra cylinders. Pffft.... would waste my hard earned!! Even if i could earn enough.

And 1/10th the build quality
I formerly owned a Volvo S80T6 which was created after Ford took them over (as they did Jaguar in case you do not realise it). I have no complaints about the service I received from Volvo and the dealer; it was excellent. However, it needed to be because the car was repeatedly in the workshop including a recall which brought all 1998-99 cars up to 2000 specification. In the three years after I sold it I received two further recalls before I finally persuaded them it was in other hands.
So, speaking as a Lexus owner, I would rather have a Toyota than a Ford.

Sure, but a 5.9 litre V12 with over 330kw is not quite the same motor as in a Soarer
Very true David..............I'm not sure why that popped into me head actually , and I concur with your view of the Jaguar
As an aside to my aside one can purchase a 2005 DB9 with under 10k on the clock for a "Mere" $315k(NZD)...........I must dash post haste to purchase (I wish!).

IF I had the moolah I would buy an Aston Martin DB9 without hesitation........they're shecksy as hell
The head of credit at Panansonic (one of my customers) bought a DB9... after winning $18,000,000.00 in Lotto recently (he no longer works for Panasonic either, strangely...)

What about a JZA80 with a Twin Supercharged 1GZ-FE
we have 2 guys over at the supra forums who both recently acquired a 1GZFE. One is going down an NA path, the other forced induction. Will be the ultimate toyota!

Oh yeah, I remember him......lucky boy , and excellent taste in cars to boot.
Oh well that still leaves him with $17,600,000.00 odd to have a pleasant lifestyle with
Actually couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Originally he was planning to work out his notice at Panasonic, but the stupid press kept stalking him, so he ended up using his holiday leave up and left early.

If I won lotto, I'd still be working to keep myself occupied... perhaps a bit shorter part time hours... after taking 5 years off on round the world holiday...
