Hey guys well I have a V8 soarer and I've had some dyno's ran over the course I've owned it as well as before.
When I brought it I had a dyno ran back in 2003 and it's power figure was 114rwkw

Upload

Around end 2005 it had another one and made 124rwkw which converted into a 15.4sec pass at WSID.

22nd June 2006 had another run 135rwkw and that was after finding a blocked fuel line and fuel filter

Upload

I had one done yesterday and made 151rwkw after having the ecu repaired.

Upload

Unable to find the 2nd dyno sheet sorry guys guess you'll have to take my word on it, I have it on video somewhere.

Will post up sheet with the headers on next week.

Oh for those who don't know the airflow is the bottom line on the last two. The other one is the power figure

BFI w/ K&N Panel filter
2 x 2 1/4 from cat back into a resignator then back into twin pipe, no mufflers at all.
shift kit and cooler
TRD 1.5way LSD
TT brake upgrade
That's all the work that has been done mod wise

Now for what has gone and been fixed or replaced
Fuel line was blocked, fuel filter was stuffed, plugs were fouled up, new leads, new plugs, new radiator, new coil pack, new dizzy caps and rotor buttons, and repaired ecu, also brake booster and master cylinder, blown diff, power steering, aircon compressor, rear main seal.

So yeah more repairs than mods. But Headers go on this week will post another one up then.

Yeah prob does, but some of the things i've found on fuel lines, and all that sort of stuff, basically claiming work they never done.... The power figure doesn't suprise me.

o ok..
Yes the biggest thing that made me wonder if it had VVTi is look at the 105hp point, thats synonymous with the variable valve cam timing kicking in. Or VTEC in Hondas. Plus the AFR is quite rich! Man that thing was running thirsty in the upper RPM range too by the looks of things.

Another thing i have noticed is that you are comparing 3 different dyno results from 3 different machines. Thats a big no no when it comes to tuning. Golden rule, stick to one dyno machine for fairer and more realistic comparisons.

Yeah I know that :-) Scott's Dyno closed.
TM Autosports is on the Central Coast NSW
And I'm now living in Darwin... Bit hard now to use same dyno's

However here's a list of problems just quickly
We found a zip tie on a fuel line, blocked fuel filter (filter apparently was changed, big doubt) and the ecu had a list of faults.

Search for Bandiana to Palmerston fuel consumption you'll see how rich it was running :-)

I will be using the same dyno for the headers when they go on soon car is still there.

Yeah well no missus up here have to keep myself amused somehow :-)

Whole new system is going on as the cat back won't meet up and the cats that are on there at the moment are rooted.

If you go into JSM this morning have a look haha
Going to be a TIGHT fit, I had a look yesterday with the old headers almost out. Only had 3 bolts when I left.

MMM good question, I'll have a look. It's in the V8 results but 90.18mph :-) So I was slower

However that'll be gone I was making around 154hp on that run, I'm now making 151rwkw.

*UPDATE*
Headers are back in, waiting on a service, and power steering hose as well as a new rear system due to old one not matching up.
Also getting some braded lines made up for the tranny cooler as they run right between the box and the headers, why not make them even hotter :S hahaha.

Will be on rollers some time next week I was told today.

Headers were a pain in the ass and so was the gearbox removal. But got there in the end.

Skinny or small diameter wheels with high tyre pressures can affect the results positively I hear. Might throw some stockies on when I run mine on the dyno next time ;)

LOL good one Braden :-)
Put some cheese cutters on and watch it just light up on there instead hahaha

That's not a bad idea if your going for a dyno princess award, and if it would it'd only be slightly different?? I say dyno run it how you would drive it daily, if your pulling the figures you want that should be enough to keep you happy :-)

Or if it's not put on the gas mwhahaha mmmm N20

Actually Mark, nearly every guide to dyno comps I have read makes this recommendation. Big fat slicks etc give a lower horsepower reading than some street tyres at high pressure. I'm sure there is some science in it but it has been a long day and I can't remember.
