Just have to find out if alloy can be welded with normal exhaust pipe.

Short answer would be no. I'm no welding expert/metalurgist but the metals would have different temperatures and I'm sure I remember that the guy who did the pipes on the Rx-7 said it couldn't be done.

Just second hand information and I may have remembered wrong. Some super-sleuth-ninja-welding-type-guru will be along shortly to confirm or deny.

Hmmm, I have had stainless welded to alloy before.

Does that mean I am now a super sleuthy ninja sword wielding master?

Or, you could just get the required length of appropriate diametered silicone and extend it with that, way simpler and cheaper.

Now I am the master, or grasshopper if you prefer

This isnt triple by-pass surgery, its not like you NEED this intercooler right here, right now to survive...

Why not just wait until he sorts out the problems with the supplier and gets the actual soarer kit?

I have fixed feelings over this kit whether to bother or not now. And now with autobarn having a sale with a further 20% off everything store wide, that Greddy FMIC kit is looking good at $640. Although I will have to wait till Feb to get the complete kit due to the logistics stuff up on them.

Just make sure that they aren't using the normal disclaimer of "excludes items already advertised" that happens a LOT with %off sales.

Lindsey, for what i understand, they are not going to be getting a soarer kit. That and I am sure as hell not putting the standard one back in. Out was easy, but I would hate to re-fit it.

Oh well Guys, Why not do what BEN S has suggested? Cut the pipe in the middle and use a 4inch piece of high quality silicone intercooler hose? 2 nice T-Bolt clamps and your done:-)

Ryan, Better off mate. Get a complete kit that FITS 100%. Saves alot of hassle and time in the long run.

And why should you guys be the guinea pigs for Just Jap? If they wanna make a kit for a Soarer and want your help? The least they could do is supply one for FREE and get you to have another pipe made for it. Then take it back to them so they can then get that pipe made for every kit they sell. Might cost them a Few Hundred Bucks, but will make them alot more in the long run. At least then they can advertise as a BOLT UP KIT!
