Drain the petrol and put some fresh stuff in there.

A quick oil change would also be a good idea.

Yeah, I would suggest, Oil + filter change, coolant flush, fresh petrol, And also a Brake fluid flush ( brake fluid is renouned for absorbing water particles.. its not a km based thing, more a time factor).

I'm not sure if priming the injectors might also be an issue.

Synthetic oils in use can last a year so nine months in storage is practically irrelevant.

Filters accumulate nothing while there is no flow.

Petrol will deteriorate a little but the car will go until you fill it up again.

Radiator fluid lasts for years when you use the car and does not die when you do not.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic but if you would not flush it in nine months of use then why would you flush it in nine months of non-use?

Do you warm up the car fully before you drive it? Well, don't do that either.

Start the bloody thing and drive it. Fill up with petrol and go for a longer drive. Then get a normal service depending on whether you did one just before you laid it up.

I guess I dhould have asked, When was its last service?

If the brake Fluid hasnt been changed for aalmost 2 years prior to the break, i would recommend it..

I would be changing it all for peace of mind. And at least you know where your service intervals start from again:-)

yes like Jose said condensation and soarers run very rich on cold start up wich can also cause black smoke.
