decided not to install anything in my soarer since im more than likley going to cause more trouble if i try. does anyone know of any good installers in Melb who can help me out here?? |

Hey Benjamin,
If your after a good install go to autobahn in frankston and ask for Reggie. He did my install of my dvd player, he is awsome! i know its a bit out there but he did a great job, so its up to you if you want to take a drive.

im looking to still keep my EMV, but just move it down to the space where the original tape deck is. so that there is a single DIN gap ontop of the EMV. and yes i would like to use the original sound specs...possible?? |

Here is a photo of a Soarer with the stock radio unit moved down to where the ash tray.
But i think he also wire the Tv switch somewhere else. |

put the new head unit below the emv not above it.. that way it will fit better and look more factory.
as for inputs to the emv, i know of a tuner mod that can be done to do this. From the tuner (under the back seat) a set of rca's can be run to the new unit you install.
its as easy as that |

im not sure if mounting it under the emv will look as good.because the screen is only 4.5" or something i can barely see or read anything under the emv hence the reason why i was going to mount it ontop close to my line of sight. but if i do mount it underneith i could possible mount another external screen somewhere and use that as a secondary screen too. |

Where would you put your aircon unit?
There are a couple of people who have moved their aircon unit down and put a fold out screen above it, however they needed to remould both units to get the smoothed look that the standard setup has. |

yeah i know, i could go for the TT style aircon unit insted but i cant be stuffed installing it. or finding the parts for it.anyone wanna do the hard work for me?? $$ |

yeah good luck. The EMV is rounded at the top so theres alot of fabrication involved. Alot earier to put it under. |

yeah i am more than likely going to stick a headunit underneith, i cbf doing all the fabrication and mods to the interior brackets. |

if anyone can help me, still looking for an installer.just replaced the stock cassette player with an after market head unit. very simple but i seemed to have stuffed it up. any help would be appriciated. need help ASAP - will pay big bucks |

Why dont you just take it to a professional audio store like Tower Audio in Oakleigh or Freeway Car Audio in Malvern? |

because ive taken it to a few places inc autobarn and theyve quoted me $250++ because i have a 1-din + lcd screen -in one. this is my unit->

Fair enough.
Wouldn't bother with Autobarn, JB-HIFI or similar installers, I would only trust their work if they had to install a basic unit into a 1989 Daewoo.
If you decide to take it somewhere like the above listed places where they're actually knowledgable and get it done right the first time, instead of having the guys at Autobarn playing guessing games because they have no idea. |

I gotta say, I agree with the above comments, I've had 3 different stereo systems put into my car by people who don't know soarers and it is just the biggest hassle! Bot sure if sports and luxury cars do electrical stuff, but maybe can try them? |
