Hello everyone. Finally got around to doing my exhaust. All I am going to say is that its the BEST bang for bucks performance. ONLY regret is that I didnt get it done earlier.

Paul from Australian exhaust (St Marrys) did an outstanding job. I drove into his workshop just before 8am and drove out at 5:12pm. He took all day to do my exhaust and making sure it got done perfect. This guy is wealth of knowledge, start talking to him about engine and exhaust and you will know what I mean.

If anyone is thinking about doing an exhaust on their car and wants it done perfect and with care, I HIGHLY recommend Australian Exhaust to you.

Here is some pictures I took on the day.

Looks good mate, Only 1 question.. Normally when you do an exhaust, you try and get some length from the dump pipe to the Cat.. MOst performance shops will recommend this. Your cat shoulda been put further down next to the gearbox ( in my opinion and from what i been told) Otherwise nice work.

LOve those Twin shot cannons man, Awsome :-):-):-)

Aka Did you get it done from the standard dump pipes or do you have custom ones? Also what did it cost you if you dont mind me asking? I need to get my exhaust done very soon.

I just got mine done where there was the largest cavity so it doesnt bottom out.

There are back-pressure related concerns if you get pedantic about it, the closer it is the less time it gives the exhaust to travel at full speed etc. You can get better response if you move it back, but who notices such minute detail!! hehe. And Daniel, i think you may have meant 'differential' instead of 'gearbox' buddy?

Aka, nice exhaust setup mate, NO resonators? .

Hey Daniel, yes you are right in saying it should be closer. But if you look closely it is as close it can be. My digi cam is so the pic doesnt show the cat properly. Its sitting just behind the gearbox as soon as the bend straightens up the factory cat location. Bit hard to see in the pic but yeah its as close as he can get it.

Other problem was the cat is a bit on the fat side so he didnt have much room to bring it any close and then push it up towards the underbody roof.

Sean my best advice is to give him a call and mention my name and car. Might give you a better price

Plus he also did my BOV.

If you want drop by my place to see what it sounds and goes like. I dont think you will regret the performance blooody exhaust makes

It all depends on what you consider loud Jose.

I would say it is a bit loud for most peoples liking. Around town sitting in 60km/h you can hear and feel a bit of humming inside the car. But as soon as you go pass 2500rev it starts to sound more free flowing/sporty/mean kind of sound.

i would say it sounds more like a european cars under throttle.

Ryan remember the last time you drove my car? no loss in traction?

this time it looses traction on 1st gear and then into 2nd.

come around my way if you get a chance cuz i am not to sure when i will go down your way again.

Its got a little drone but its not terribly loud... i dont get it tho, they're retired and have told me they dont mind me having party's that go all night as i'm young and should be enjoying myself... but when it comes to me having to start my car early to go to work then they complain. Bah !!

But yes... I still love it :P

It might be just the wrong note and resonates in their kitchen/bedroom whatever.

A neighbour told me that my exhaust drums in his bedroom if I go past with a little throttle, but is fine in every other room of the house.

i agree with peter. I usually start up my car a few minutes before i take off and it seems the bathroom has a bassy note when the door is

But the rest of the house seems to be fine. Must come done the insulations they have between the walls.

Cihan.. Yeha Man, you understood what i meant. Really need at least 18 inches of pipework before ya hit the cat. Found that out on a N/A 4 litre. Also goes for Turbos.

Thanks for clearin that up for me champ:-) running on the same wavelengths. Cheers.

I'm gettin my exhaust done next week, I've been puttin it off for ages.
Did you get dump pipes made up? Or do you still have the stockies?

The way you go on about your exhaust makes me wanna get mine done exactly the same! What are the exact specs of your new system?

Also, as Sean asked - how much did it set you back?

And I'm lovin the dual dual cannons!

Tom specs are 3inch mendral bend of the factory dump pipes. If you look at pic number 4 you will see where it starts from (just after flex pipe).

So its 3inch mendral bend running into high-flow cat then "Y" split into 2.5inch press bend (no resonators).

Paul charged me $420+gst for the pipework, as i had the cannons & hiflow cat from before.
