found this on carpoint. Is the guys mums car (apparently) asking 13500 but has come down to around 12000. I reckon it's worth around 10000? Considering it's a UZZ30 and early model.. What do you guys think? Cheers

Are you sure its a UZZ30 as i didnt think they had the LIMITED badging

My guess is its a 31 but either way unless its in exceptionally good condition i would say its too expensive

Looks like a 31 to me. Even so, being an early model with few or no decent mods, it's way too dear.

not sure, he told me it doesn't have air suspension so i assumed a 30? Unless it's been replaced? His mother is in her 60's, she's had it for 9 years and looks clean from the outside. He is sending me some more pics. Do you think 10K is a reasonable offer?
You both have 31's, how reliable in your opinions are the suspension, EMV screen, and electrics. What are the cons of buying a UZZ30. I've read alot of good and bad about both.
Am pretty confused right about now.

It's possibly a 31 with after market suspension - "Heavy Duty Suspension"

I have a 30 and a 31 and love them both for different reasons. The 31 is a cruiser, the 30 is my hoon car. Once the suspension gets changed on a 31 though, it could handle good or bad, but it won't be the same as it should be, so you really need to drive it.

I asked him about the heavy duty suspension and he said he had no idea the ad stated that? You reckon 10K is reasonable?

Sound like a reasonable soarer, Lady owners tend to be more careful with the interior which I can vouch for, some of my Soarer interiors parts like the steering wheel and gear shifter are in great condition still especially the shifter as it was owned by two lady owners, Unfortunately they were a little rough with the door trims though.

The one you have found looks like a 31 though with the Limited and green window tint however... Need more pictures of course to get more of an idea of the condition.

10k is probably reasonable if it is in above average condition... however I think you should check out the odd car members here are selling as they will have usually had multiple problems fixed already and be rightly priced.

Tip is not to rush into anything!

Sean, in my experience the electrics have been very reliable. The only problem I've had was bad earth points (easily fixed). The sound system was on it's last legs when I bought the car but I was always going to put an aftermarket system in, so this didn't bother me.
The EMV has been 100% reliable.
The suspension had been a major hassle and cost a lot to get sorted. I probably could have avoided this problem by getting a thorough inspection by a suspension specialist before buying.

As Mike said, take your time.

Definitely, you would be buying a quality car from a quality bloke that knows his stuff, for the money you couldn't do any better! Seriously go an test it out at least!

I'd jump at the opportunity to buy a Soarer owned by a keen and enthusiastic Soarer guy in NZ but....... the Soarer world is quite quiet here compared to Australia.

Hmmm, You might find jumping on a flight to where Lew and his car is a good way if you do decided to buy it, pre-organize insurance and then drive it back.

Quite a few members have done it that way :-)

Just do a search on Lew's posts, I think you'll find him pretty knowledgeable and helpfull to other people. Also check the other car/cars he's sold, pretty sure they have been very happy with them as well..
I just bought one from interstate, and so far so good :-) I flew over and drove it back. I'm just waiting for rego plates to arrive so i can register it now.
But that carpoint one seems high priced, it would have to be in absolute MINT condition with no problems for that price.
Post the other pics when you get them.

here are the other pics of the car. Looks pretty good. I can't see him moving much from 12K though.

I would like to buy Lews 30, just wish i understood more about the ARD compilance issues.
I don't want to buy the car and realise i can't get it registered in Victoria.
Will also need to get another RWC done, not sure the differences between QLD and VIC?

if they are pics from the same car on carsales, it is a non emv 31 with air suspension,

Looks pretty clean too.

The 30 that lew has is a pretty good car too, I drove it a while when Lew did some work on mine.

There are no problems registering complied cars in other states, mine came from Sydney when I brought it.

The only issue i had with registering mine here, was the VIN number needed to be stamped onto the body. Which turns out is a regular issue with NSW cars..
That one looks clean, but the asking price is too high considering it hasn't got EMV or TRC

VIN no's are stamped at the factory, some people call them body no's.

The number is just off center at the top of the firewall.

Aww crap.. wish i'd known that earlier :-(
If that's the case though, why do they have to be stamped elsewhere or have a tag pop riveted to the body?

That is an identification tag, it gives you vin, model, eng no's,diff and trans type, as well as trim and paint codes. Also the factory where it was built.

Plenty of info on the tag.

Different numbers. The Australian VIN number has no relationship to the original manufacturers stamp.
