Hi everybody!

I the past I was a manual guy.
Now have question about low gears.

Under what road conditions do you use 'L', '2' and 'OD'?

Any speed limits? I have feeling it should be...

Thanks!

Just leave it in 'D' with 'O/D ON' and only change it when you want to pre-empt overtaking or something, or when you are towing.

The ECU will determine which gears are required.

I wish my Soarer would rev out longer in first when at half throttle. I have to plant it for it to rev out. Any way to adjust this?

Leave the PWR switch on?
Permanently wire the kickdown button on?

Thats pretty much it.

I always make use of 2nd and 3rd (overdrive off) as it give much more fun.

Don't worry about the box, the ECU only allows changes when the correct speed it reached i.e dropping to 1st at 80kph will mean the box coasts until the motor drops to say 30kph.

Even a lardy V8 can be quick of the mark in 1st to 2nd (and MUCH more stable into corners) - just remember the correct up shift point so as to not hit the rev limiter.

Try going around a roundabout in 1st - you will leave the opposition dead (assuming you have the bottle).
